Check out I Don’t Want to Go Back to Normal. It is a new zine sponsored by Atrocious Poets, and I am grateful that my poem “Independence Day Parade” is among the poems and original artwork featured inside.
I have been trying to hold it together and show gratitude this year. If I’m being perfectly honest results are… mixed. But one of the things I go back to is that I am fortunate to have opportunities to express myself and inspiration to do it.
Atrocious Poets have provided a lot of these opportunities. They are a a non profit that does a series of fundraisers throughout the year. They focus on making poetry, and just language in general, fun. They organize poetry pub crawls, walks through the woods, seminars, and numerous other activities. Unfortunately a lot of the in person activities can’t happen in 2020.
So instead, they put together a zine with 24 artists and poets from throughout the area. And while I have never been too comfortable with self promotion, there is a lot of amazing work in here and I am honored to be in this collection with all of these talented people. It is $10 and the money helps fund all of the activities Atrocious Poets organizes throughout the year.
