“Steer into the Skid” is a collection of poetry and micro-fiction written from 2020 – 2023. It explores the impact of the modern world on my anxiety, how the infinite distractions of the internet can feed into an already strong tendency toward avoidance, and my attempts to practice self-acceptance in the middle of all of it.
I had the privilege to perform numerous works from this collection as part of the 2023 Elgin Fringe Arts Festival. It was an amazing experience and I hope to perform at upcoming Fringe Festivals. My page for the performance along with a list of the poems I performed in this show are here. I also had the pleasure of reading “Borrowed Air“, “Steer into the Skid“, and “Lord Deliver Me (A Gas Station Hot Dog)” As part of four different shows I performed with L-Theory Dance Collective in 2023. It was an honor to perform “Tarzan of the Grapes” and “Borrowed Air” as part of the 25th Anniversary of Fear No Art at College of Lake County in Grayslake April19-20 2024. To view these performances click “Tarzan of the Grapes” or “Borrowed Air”
